Groom Accused of Raping Wedding Guest Won’t Get Jail Time

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (702 Times, NV Globe) – According to court documents, a man accused of raping a wedding guest before his Las Vegas wedding will not face any jail time.
After the event on April 19, 2021, Omar Delaney was charged with sexual assault. Delaney was found guilty of sexually motivated coercion, according to court documents.
Delaney and other guests were out partying on Fremont Street and the Strip the night before the wedding, according to authorities. Delaney allegedly volunteered to accompany one of the visitors to her room before sexually assaulting the lady.
Before departing, Delaney promised the lady it would remain their “little secret,” according to an arrest report. Despite the charges, Delaney married, according to the Daily Mail.
Delaney was sentenced to a maximum of 48 months on probation during a sentencing hearing on January 12. Delaney will have a curfew and must register as a sex offender as part of his probation.
