Heavy Rains Damage Mojave National Preserve South of Las Vegas Roads

LAS VEGAS – Roads in the Mojave National Preserve south of Las Vegas have been partially washed away by recent heavy rains.
On Friday, the park announced that all principal roads were closed until further notice because of flash floods that destroyed multiple asphalt roadways.
According to the National Park Service, recent storms washed away sections of Black Canyon Road and submerged S. Kelbaker Road under a layer of rocks, sand, and debris.

TY for the upgraded road conditions in the MNP. I find upgraded road conditions essential and have traveled the roads within the MNP and Grand Canyon/Parashont often in the past and plan to do so again in the near future.Cellphone reception is spotty even when it does exist and always let some know the details surrounding my explorations and travels as websites are often inaccurate and can lead you straight into trouble
