Carson City, NV – A tragic incident occurred at High Desert State Prison last Thursday, resulting in the death of an inmate.
The Nevada Department of Corrections confirmed that a 27-year-old Native American inmate, identified as Hawk Urban, was fatally stabbed by his cellmate. Urban was serving time for battery and parole violations.
The incident, which is currently under investigation, highlights the challenges faced by correctional facilities in maintaining safety and security. Despite the fact that the victim and suspect had been housed together for an extended period without prior incidents, the tragic event underscores the unpredictable nature of prison environments.
