LAS VEGAS, Nev. (702 Times, NV Globe) – The need for CPR training is growing throughout the valley. In response to that demand, University Medical Center (UMC) is currently providing more free classes.
The community can enroll in free CPR lessons at the medical center’s Healthy Living Institute. Through the next first quarter of the year, more sessions are currently scheduled. In addition to regular CPR instruction, the sessions also provide specific baby and kid CPR instruction.
Cardiovascular events typically occur at home, according to Amy Runge, Clinical Nurse Manager at Healthy Living Institute. “What we do is empower and educate people so they know what to do if one of their loved ones has a cardiac crisis at home and needs CPR, whether it’s their new baby or their father,”on that individual.
Runge asserts that she believes the increase in demand is related to media reports of cardiac events, such as the death of Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin.
The following open CPR course is on January 23. For additional details and to join up, click here.
