Las Vegas Judge Orders No Bail for Teen in Multi-Vehicle Crash That Killed Two

A Las Vegas man, 19-year-old Jose Gutierrez, will be held without bail after being accused in connection to a 12-vehicle crash that killed his pregnant girlfriend and another driver. The crash occurred at West Cheyenne Avenue and North Jones Boulevard last week.
According to the indictment, Gutierrez faced charges including open murder and attempted murder. Court documents state that he had been traveling at high speed and failed to brake before the collision.
During his initial appearance, a justice of the peace determined that the state met its burden for a no-bail hold given the nature of the charges and the evidence presented.
