Las Vegas Metropolitan Police (LVMPD) are investigating a disturbing case of animal cruelty after discovering multiple deceased animals inside a vehicle on Tuesday afternoon.
The incident was reported shortly after 3:00 pm in the 3100 block of North Tenaya Way, near Cheyenne Avenue. LVMPD responded to a call regarding a dog trapped in a car. Upon arrival, officers discovered multiple animals dead within the vehicle.
LVMPD has confirmed that one person is currently in custody. The Animal Cruelty section of LVMPD is leading the investigation.
This incident raises serious concerns, particularly considering the current excessive heat warning in effect for the Las Vegas Valley until Wednesday night. Leaving any living creature in a parked vehicle during such extreme temperatures can be fatal.
This is a developing story.
