Las Vegas police are investigating a series of unrelated incidents in the east valley and surrounding areas that resulted in one death, multiple injuries, and an officer hurt following a vehicle pursuit.
Metro Police reported that officers responded early Thursday to a homicide near the intersection of Eastern Avenue and Bonanza Road. When officers arrived, they located an adult victim who had suffered fatal injuries. Detectives have begun gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses. No additional details, including suspect information, have been released.
Later in the morning, a separate police pursuit in east Las Vegas ended with one officer injured and a driver in custody. According to Metro Police, the incident began when officers attempted a traffic stop near Desert Inn Road and Maryland Parkway. The driver reportedly fled, leading officers on a pursuit before crashing and striking an officer during the encounter. The injured officer was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect was arrested at the scene, and the investigation remains active.
In a third incident, one person was critically injured following a three-car collision near Charleston Boulevard and Nellis Boulevard. Emergency responders transported the individual to a nearby hospital, while the other people involved sustained minor or no injuries. Traffic remained restricted in the area as officers examined the crash site and cleared debris.
Authorities have not indicated that any of the incidents are related. All three investigations are ongoing, and police are asking anyone with information to contact Metro or Crime Stoppers.
