LAS VEGAS – A brief power outage hit central Las Vegas earlier today, leaving approximately 5,000 customers without electricity. The outage began at around 12:40 p.m. near Sahara Avenue and Decatur Boulevard, according to NV Energy’s outage page. Traffic signals in the affected area were also temporarily disrupted.
Fortunately, crews worked swiftly and by 2:30 p.m., power had been restored to all but 1,400 customers. NV Energy is still investigating the cause of the outage.
While the majority of residents are back online, some may still be experiencing temporary disruptions. If you’re in the affected area and your power hasn’t been restored, you can check NV Energy’s outage page for updates or call their customer service line at (702) 483-4500.
