LAS VEGAS, Nev. (702 Times, NV Globe) – Later this month, Downtown Summerlin will hold a free parade and other celebrations for the Lunar New Year.
The parade will start at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 22, and activities will begin at 5 p.m. Visitors may download the Summerlin app to receive a free illuminated cheer stick while supplies last. From 3:30 until 4:30 pm, interested parties must stop by the redemption table situated in the ONE Summerlin office tower’s breezeway.
The free procession will begin on Park Centre Drive at 5:30 p.m. and will include fan dancers, stilt walkers, a huge dragon, and more.
According to Downtown Summerlin, the resort will celebrate the Year of the Rabbit with spectacular décor from January 23 through January 27. Highlights of the decor include a “larger-than-life” Chinese dragon at the Dining Arroyo, giant 2023 lettering at the Macy’s Promenade, and an Instagram-worthy photo wall decorated for the holidays in the corridor near H&M.
“This is our sixth-year hosting Lunar New Year at the property and honoring Southern Nevada’s rich Asian heritage with our annual Lunar New Year parade. It’s a celebrated community tradition and we can’t wait to unveil what we’ve been working on,” said Halee Harczynski with Downtown Summerlin.
