LVMPD Officer Colton Pulsipher Killed in Wrong-Way Crash Near Valley of Fire

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) is mourning the loss of Officer Colton Pulsipher, who tragically died in a wrong-way collision on I-15 early Thursday morning, December 12, 2024. Officer Pulsipher, 29, was driving home after his shift when the accident occurred near Mile Marker 78, close to Valley of Fire State Park.
The Incident
According to Nevada State Police, the crash was reported shortly before 12:30 a.m. The collision involved multiple vehicles and claimed the lives of Officer Pulsipher and another man. A woman who sustained non-life-threatening injuries was airlifted to Las Vegas for treatment.
The crash prompted the closure of northbound I-15 lanes at Mile Marker 75, with traffic being diverted at the Valley of Fire/Tribal Plaza Exit. Southbound lanes remain open, and drivers heading north were advised to find alternate routes.
Officer Pulsipher’s Legacy
Officer Pulsipher had been a dedicated member of LVMPD since 2017, serving in the Tourist Safety Division, Traffic Bureau. He was known for his commitment to protecting the Las Vegas community.
“He is survived by his loving wife and three children, who remain in our thoughts during this unimaginably difficult time,” LVMPD shared in a heartfelt post.
