Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak Declared Sept. 24 Jeff German Day

LAS VEGAS – On behalf of the state of Nevada, Governor Steve Sisolak has declared September 24 to be Jeff German Day in Las Vegas.

In the early hours of September 3rd, someone walked into the home of a 69-year-old German in the northwest Las Vegas valley and stabbed him to death. Clark County’s elected public administrator, 45-year-old Robert Telles, is accused of murder in connection with the incident. Several of German’s investigative pieces have focused on Telles.

Telles’ office was the center of several articles, all of which claimed that it had been a hostile place to work in the months leading up to the murder.

Over more than three decades, German was an investigative reporter for both Las Vegas’ dailies.

On Twitter, Sisolak wrote a heartfelt message of condolence to German’s loved ones.

“To honor Jeff’s reporting and lasting impact on the State of Nevada, I proclaimed September 24, 2022, as a day in honor of Jeff German. Kathy and I are sending our love to all those who continue to mourn Jeff’s death.”
