LAS VEGAS, Nev. (702 Times, NV Globe) – An early Wednesday morning capture of the mountain lion observed prowling near a neighborhood in northwest Las Vegas.

After the mountain lion was discovered along the Grand Canyon and Grand Teton drives on Monday night, neighbors were on high alert. Brittany Avey and her husband witnessed the animal and took photographs of it.

The animal was observed on Cliff Peaks Street near Farm Road and Grand Canyon Drive shortly before 9 p.m., according to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police. Tuesday. The large cat was captured in that region in the early morning hours by the Nevada Department of Wildlife. The mountain lion had moved approximately a half-mile from where it had been seen on Monday.

Officials encourage people not to flee if they encounter a lion since it may spark the animal’s propensity to follow you. Instead, lift your hands over your head, appear huge, and back away slowly.
