One Injured and One in Custody After Shooting Disrupts Traffic in Northeast Las Vegas

Las Vegas police are investigating a shooting that left one person injured and led to traffic disruptions in the northeast valley Monday afternoon.
Officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded shortly before 4:30 p.m. to reports of gunfire near the intersection of Craig Road and Nellis Boulevard. Authorities said the shooting occurred in the area and prompted an immediate police response.
When officers arrived, they located one individual suffering from injuries. Emergency medical personnel responded and transported the victim for treatment. Police said the injuries were not considered life threatening.
During the investigation, officers detained one person believed to be connected to the incident. Authorities have not released the suspect’s identity or potential charges as detectives continue to gather evidence.
The incident also affected traffic in the area. Several lanes near the intersection were temporarily closed while investigators processed the scene and searched for evidence. Motorists were advised to avoid the area and use alternate routes until the investigation cleared.
Police have not released details about what led to the shooting or whether the individuals involved knew each other. Investigators say the case remains active as detectives interview witnesses and review evidence.
Officials stated there is no ongoing threat to the public while the investigation continues.
