Person Dies From Self-Inflicted Gunshot at Boca Park, Police Say

Las Vegas police are investigating a shooting that occurred Thursday evening in the west valley after a person was found with a gunshot wound.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, officers were in the 700 block of South Rampart Boulevard near the Boca Park retail center around 5:30 p.m. conducting follow-up work on a wanted individual. While in the area, officers reported hearing a single gunshot.
Police located a person who had been injured and requested medical assistance. The individual later died from what investigators determined to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The parking lot of the shopping center was temporarily closed for the ongoing investigation, though surrounding roads were reopened shortly after 6 p.m.
