Pickup Struck Pedestrian on North Nellis Boulevard in 32nd Fatality of Year

By TheNevadaGlobeStaff, March 23, 2026 12:24 pm

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is managing a significant surge in roadway fatalities following three separate deadly incidents reported in the last 24 hours. The most recent occurred Monday morning on North Nellis Boulevard, south of Meikle Lane, where a pickup truck struck a pedestrian. This incident has been designated as the 32nd traffic-related fatality investigated by the department so far in 2026.

Earlier that same morning, around 8:57 AM, investigators responded to a fatal collision involving a vehicle and an e-bicycle at the intersection of South 15th Street and East Bridger Avenue. Authorities confirmed the e-cyclist succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Additionally, a critical injury crash was reported at Blue Diamond Road and South Buffalo Drive involving a vehicle and a pedestrian, adding to a mounting total of high-impact accidents across the valley.

Traffic detectives are currently processing evidence at all three sites to determine if impairment, speed, or failure to yield contributed to the collisions. The rapid succession of these accidents has prompted local law enforcement to issue renewed warnings to both drivers and pedestrians to remain vigilant, especially during peak commute hours. The identities of the deceased will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office following the notification of next of kin.
