Rescuers Recover Missing Labrador as Wetlands Camera Vandalism Investigated

By TheNevadaGlobeStaff, December 9, 2025 8:36 am

Rescue volunteers in Las Vegas reported that a Labrador retriever missing for several weeks has been safely recovered from the Clark County Wetlands. According to Paws Patrol Las Vegas, teams had been searching the area after repeated sightings of the dog were shared by residents and trail users.

During the response effort, rescuers also discovered that a wildlife camera installed to help track the dog had been damaged. The group says the camera was intentionally broken and that a suspect may have been recorded before the device failed. Local authorities have been notified as part of an ongoing inquiry into the vandalism.

The dog, described as underweight but alert, was secured after volunteers used food stations, scent markers, and camera monitoring to narrow down its location. The animal is now receiving veterinary attention and remains in the care of rescuers while efforts are made to identify an owner.

Paws Patrol Las Vegas acknowledged the community for sharing tips and helping monitor trails through the wetlands during the search. The group says the investigation into the damaged equipment will continue as officials review available footage.
