LAS VEGAS, Nev. (702 Times, NV Globe) – Skiers and snowboarders on Mount Charleston simply couldn’t pass up the opportunity to enjoy the weekend’s eighteen inches of snowfall.
Although Lee Canyon was packed that day, getting there required planning.
Police were making sure that drivers had 4-wheel drive or winter tires and chains because it was winter driving conditions.
The travel Monday proved hard in the morning with thick fog and mist down Lee Canyon Road.
The vision on Lee Canyon Road was nearly nonexistent three miles into the journey due to dense fog.
It was less the fog and mist on Kyle Canyon Road leading up to the Town of Mt. Charleston that presented difficulties for drivers.
Rain was falling up to a height of around 4,000 feet.
From there, slick driving conditions were caused by rain and a drop in temperature.
With another system approaching this week, more mountain snow is likely.
