In a move that underscores the importance of proactive health measures, the Southern Nevada Health District is hosting a free Adult Immunization Outreach Event on Thursday, May 29, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Fremont Public Health Center, 2830 E. Fremont St., Las Vegas, NV 89104. This event offers adults the opportunity to receive immunizations, blood pressure checks, STD screenings, and harm reduction resources at no cost.
The Health District emphasizes the significance of staying current on vaccines for illnesses such as flu, hepatitis, varicella, human papillomavirus, measles-mumps-rubella, meningococcal disease, pneumonia, shingles, and tetanus-diphtheria-pertussis. These preventive measures are crucial in safeguarding individual health and ensuring community well-being.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their immunization records, though they are not required to receive vaccines. Vaccines are also available at local health providers and pharmacies, often covered by insurance or offered at reduced or no cost.
This initiative reflects a commitment to personal responsibility and community health, providing resources for individuals to take charge of their well-being.
