Statewide Dispatch Lines Restored After Nevada Highway Patrol Outage

On Sunday, dispatch phone lines for the Nevada Highway Patrol and Nevada State Police experienced a statewide outage, the agencies announced via social media just before 10 a.m. Residents were instructed to dial 911 and request emergency assistance from the Highway Patrol if needed. At daylight, the Nevada Department of Public Safety’s official website (dps.nv.gov) was also offline, and some state online services and phone lines were sluggish or inaccessible.
By 7 p.m., dispatch lines had been restored and were operational for incoming emergency calls from motorists. However, the DPS site remained down, and other state services continued to experience disruptions. The State’s Technology Office is working to fully restore all functionality. In the interim, officials reiterated that 911 remains the proper line for any emergency needs.
