LAS VEGAS, Nev. (702 Times, NV Globe) – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is congratulating itself on a significant decrease in crime recorded at a weekly apartment complex on Boulder Highway.
On Tuesday, LVMPD tweeted that the Sportsman’s Royal Manor had previously produced more than 100 calls for help every month.
These figures have lately fallen, and the agency attributes the decrease to extensive community outreach.
“Determined to make the weekly apartment complex safe for residents, LVMPD worked with owners to achieve a crime-free status,” LVMPD tweeted. “Changes included everything from more frequent police patrols, improved lighting in the complex, and security screening of potential residents.”
On Tuesday, officers attended a Christmas gathering with locals to commemorate the developments.
Food drives, barbecues, and carnivals, according to police, have also been important components of their community engagement initiatives.
