Vendors Return to Broadacres Amid Ongoing Concerns, New Alert System in Place

Broadacres Marketplace in North Las Vegas has resumed operations after a temporary closure in June, which followed community concerns over possible immigration enforcement actions. The reopening comes with enhanced safety and communication measures intended to reassure vendors, employees, and customers.
While no immigration raids occurred during the closure, the heightened apprehension led to reduced foot traffic and business activity. Some vendors reported that not all employees returned, and some customers remain hesitant to visit. However, others expressed relief at the new protocols in place, noting improved transparency and coordination.
To address lingering concerns, the marketplace has introduced a vendor alert system designed to quickly notify vendors of any law enforcement presence in or near the area. In partnership with the ACLU of Nevada, Broadacres has also distributed educational materials and conducted “Know Your Rights” sessions to inform vendors and patrons of their legal protections.
Congressman Steven Horsford, who has previously visited the marketplace and met with its vendors, praised the reopening and encouraged ongoing dialogue between marketplace leadership and the small business community.
In support of local businesses, Broadacres has temporarily lowered booth rental and entry fees for the month of August. Additional training sessions between vendors and civil rights groups are expected in the coming days.
