Visitor Tests Positive for Measles in Clark County – Health Officials Alert Travelers
By TheNevadaGlobeStaff, November 7, 2025 3:01 pm
A case of measles has been confirmed in Clark County, the Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) announced. The individual is a visitor to the region, and while details regarding their age and vaccination status were not released, health officials reported that the last confirmed case in a Clark County resident occurred in 2018.
The agency is advising anyone who traveled through Harry Reid International Airport around the time of the visit to monitor for symptoms such as fever, rash, cough and runny nose, and to verify that they are immunized against measles through the MMR vaccine.
SNHD officials emphasized the high transmissibility of measles and stressed the importance of vaccination and early detection. “Two doses of the MMR vaccine provide roughly 97 percent protection,” a health advisory stated.
