Chain Controls In Effect On Sierra Highways As Winter Weather

NEVADA – As a weekend system moves through the area, roads in the Sierra mountain passes and valley floors are now closed to cars without chains.

As of 11 a.m., chain controls are in place in the following places:

• USA Parkway From I-80 to US-50
• US-395 From SR-88 to US-50
• SR-446 From NV-447 to Pyramid Hwy
• US-395 From California border to Buckeye Rd
• SR-447 From I-80 to Gerlach
• SR-28 From US-50 to Secret Harbor Chain Up Area
• SR-28 From Secret Harbor Chain Up Area to Memorial Point Scenic Overlook
• SR-28 From Memorial Point Scenic Overlook to Mt. Rose Hwy
