NEVADA – The Nevada Department of Transportation is seeking applications for paid summer internships in preparation for the summer road work season.
Applications are accepted until February 28, although applicants are advised to apply as soon as possible because recruitments may close any time based on the number of applications.
The internship program provides students with on-the-job training in civil and environmental engineering, such as highway construction, maintenance, surveying, and asset management, as well as traffic engineering, environmental stewardship, and bridge inspection and design.
Internships will be available from May through August 2023 and will pay up to $19 per hour, based on education and experience.
Applications for positions in Carson City, Las Vegas, Reno, Elko, and Winnemucca are being accepted through Feb. 28. However, some internship slots may conclude sooner if many suitable people submit.
Search “Public Service Intern” at careers.nv.gov to submit an application. Candidates must have completed high school and be enrolled in a college degree program.
Previously, more than 50 students participated in the NDOT internship program.
NDOT builds, operates, and maintains over 5,000 miles of state highways and over 1,200 bridges to keep Nevada safe and connected.
