Nevada State Offices Closed Today Due to Blizzard Warning: Public Safety Personnel and Some Courts Open with Modifications

CARSON CITY, NV (January 11, 2024) – Governor Joe Lombardo has ordered the closure of all state government offices in northern Nevada today, Thursday, January 11th, due to hazardous road conditions caused by the ongoing blizzard. The closures apply to Carson City, Churchill County, Douglas County, Lyon County, Mineral County, and Washoe County.
Essential personnel for public safety and corrections remain on duty.
Governor Lombardo urges all Nevadans to stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary and to follow guidance from the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) and the Department of Public Safety (DPS).
Important Updates:
- County Offices in Storey County will open at noon today.
- Dayton Justice Court, Fernley Canal Township Justice Court, and Walker River Justice Court will be closed, and all court proceedings canceled.
- Reno Sparks Indian Colony Employees and Services will have a 2-hour delay due to road conditions.
- The Third Judicial District Courts will be closed today, with the exception of the Fernley Juvenile Master Court, which will be held remotely via Zoom.
