SPARKS, Nev. (775 Times, NV Globe) – In Sparks, a home fire is being investigated. The fire started about 11:50 p.m. Wednesday, December 14th, in the 100 block of East I Street.
The incident was reported by a bystander who stated the whole house was engulfed in flames, according to Sparks fire chief Derek Keller. Within 5 minutes, five engines and 21 workers arrived at the home to discover just the adjoining side-garage completely burned.
The fire was quickly put out and restricted to the garage, but the home suffered heat damage. Overnight, crews were on the scene cleaning up.
Keller further stated that the residence was assumed to be uninhabited and that the cause of the fire is not being investigated at this time. The fire investigator will conduct more inspections.
There were no reported injuries.
