Two Residences on 10th and Montello in Reno Burned Saturday
NEVADA – On Saturday afternoon, crews responded to a fire affecting two homes on 10th and Montello streets in Reno.
On December 3, the Reno Fire Department (RFD) got a call shortly before 3:15 p.m. When they arrived, the house was completely occupied.
According to authorities, both homes were unoccupied and had no electricity. There was dense vegetation between the residences, and the fire crept through it, catching the top of the second house. Crews were able to prevent the fire from spreading to a third residence.
During the investigation, 10th Street will be closed for approximately 2 hours.
There were no casualties.
According to police, the fire was caused by squatters. An investigator is on the scene trying to figure out what happened.
