William N. Pennington Foundation Donates $140,000 and Ford F-150 Truck to American Red Cross of Northern Nevada

NEVADA – The Reno-based William N. Pennington Foundation has made a significant donation of $140,000 and a brand-new Ford F-150 truck to the American Red Cross of Northern Nevada. This generous contribution will be exclusively utilized in Northern and Rural Nevada to bolster the Red Cross’ disaster response efforts and assist displaced residents during times of crisis.

Mary Powell, the Executive Director of the American Red Cross Northern Nevada Chapter, expressed gratitude for the Pennington Foundation’s generosity, emphasizing the impact it will have on providing crucial support to community members affected by home fires, flooding, severe winter weather, and other disasters. The donated truck will also play a vital role in ensuring safe transportation for volunteers, staff, and supplies to emergency locations, enabling timely assistance to those in need.

In addition to disaster relief, the Red Cross of Northern Nevada focuses on fire safety initiatives and preparedness education programs. In the year 2022 alone, over 400 volunteers and staff members from the organization provided support and aid to more than 125 home fires, assisting nearly 500 individuals in Northern and Rural Nevada.

With the escalating frequency of devastating wildfires, earthquakes, and other disasters, the Pennington Foundation’s generosity and partnership are especially appreciated. Their donation will enhance the American Red Cross’ capacity to serve the community and respond effectively to the growing need for assistance.
