LAS VEGAS, NV — The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s (LVMPD) Homicide Section has launched a full-scale criminal investigation following a fatal stabbing early Wednesday morning just blocks away from the resort corridor.

Violence Flares on Cambridge Street

The violent confrontation unfolded in a high-density residential neighborhood located immediately east of the main tourism district.

  • The Call: LVMPD patrol officers swarmed the 3800 block of Cambridge Street at approximately 3:30 AM on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, after communications centers received multiple frantic 911 calls from residents reporting a violent domestic dispute and cries for help echoing from a common courtyard area.

  • The Discovery: Upon arriving at the scene, first responders located an adult male victim on the walkway suffering from severe, penetrative stab wounds to his upper torso and neck area.

  • The Outcome: Emergency medical technicians and fire crews aggressively attempted life-saving resuscitation protocols at the scene, but the victim’s injuries were too extensive. He succumbed to the trauma and was officially pronounced dead at the scene.

The Search for Surveillance Data

Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators spent several hours processing the area, mapping out the physical evidence trail, and canvassing nearby apartment complexes for localized security camera footage.

At this stage in the active investigation, Metro officials have confirmed that the attack stemmed from a physical altercation between individuals known to one another. However, they have not released a formalized suspect description or announced an immediate arrest. The identity of the deceased, as well as the official cause of death, are currently being withheld pending a formal autopsy and family notification by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

Anyone with information regarding the dispute or transient movements along the corridor near dawn on Wednesday is urged to contact the LVMPD Homicide Section directly, or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers of Nevada.
