Aggreko Re-Signed as Official Temporary Power Partner for 2026 Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix

LAS VEGAS, NV — Global mobile energy and temperature control provider Aggreko will return as the Official Temporary Power Partner for the Formula 1 Heineken Las Vegas Grand Prix 2026, race promoters confirmed in a joint infrastructure announcement.

The multi-year deployment contract—dispatched through race operations and international wire services—ensures that Aggreko’s engineered microgrid networks will power the 3.8-mile night circuit running directly down the Las Vegas Strip for the fourth consecutive year.

The 50-lap grand prix, scheduled to take place November 19–21, 2026, represents one of the most logistically demanding temporary electrical installations in world sports.

Because the high-speed circuit closes down public boulevards—including Las Vegas Boulevard South, Koval Lane, Harmon Avenue, and Sands Avenue—the race cannot tap into municipal overhead utility lines without risking regional power instability across adjoining resort casino properties.

To eliminate that exposure, Aggreko will design, deploy, and manage an isolated, self-contained energy and HVAC ecosystem powering the pit building, team garages, hospitality suites, fan activation villages, and the specialized lighting rigs that illuminate the street circuit for night racing.

Decentralized Microgrids and High-Velocity Track Lighting

The centerpiece of the electrical configuration is the uninterrupted illumination required for driver safety at speeds exceeding 215 mph.

Aggreko’s technical teams will install synchronized generator-battery microgrids to power hundreds of trackside light towers, ensuring zero flicker and automated sub-second failover redundancy during competitive track sessions.

The installation also supports the massive 300,000-square-foot Grand Prix Plaza paddock facility on Harmon Avenue and Koval Lane.

The facility houses:

  • FIA Race Control and Scrutineering: Dedicated uninterrupted power supplies (UPS) protecting live telemetry, judicial race radio communications, and safety car marshaling systems.

  • Team Pit Garages: High-capacity power feeds for tire heating warmers, diagnostic telemetry computing racks, and dynamic garage ventilation systems.

  • Hospitality and Luxury Suites: Modular HVAC units delivering targeted climate control across Paddock Club viewing areas and VIP terrace pavilions.

Sustainability Benchmarks and Carbon Reduction Goals

The 2026 power plan aligns with Formula 1’s overarching Net Zero 2030 sustainability mandate.

Aggreko will deploy low-carbon solutions across the paddock perimeter, integrating Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) renewable diesel and modular Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

These hybrid units store surplus energy during off-peak hours, cutting generator idling times and significantly reducing overall localized greenhouse gas emissions compared to standard diesel setups.

With Clark County and Formula 1 recently extending their operating partnership to keep the Las Vegas Grand Prix on the resort corridor through at least 2037, scalable temporary power infrastructure remains a critical foundation for Southern Nevada’s premier global sporting event.
