WCSD Offers Free 24/7 Tutoring for Students in Grades 6-12

According to recent surveys conducted around the country, exam results have dropped dramatically since the outbreak. The Washoe County School District revealed its strategy in the aim of assisting kids’ academic progress.

According to The Nation’s Report Card, arithmetic scores have dropped more than ever before, while reading scores have dropped to levels seen 30 years ago.

The epidemic is to blame for this drop. Washoe County School District stated that they are determined to see children achieve the necessary progress.

Teachers working longer hours, staffing shortages, and at-home learning are just a few of the problems the district has experienced since returning to the classroom.

WCSD has recently collaborated with “Paper,” a free tutoring and writing help service that is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

All topic areas are covered, and students may ask questions and work through challenges. This software is also accessible in Spanish.

Joe Ernst, WCSD’s Chief Accountability Officer, explained what a cooperation with this new resource entails.

“We’ve greatly expanded the range of tutoring services that we can provide.” It adds another dimension to our academic rehabilitation. “We saw students progressively utilize it, and their ability to access it at different times is something that today’s student enjoys and does,” Ernst said.

Washoe County students in grades 6 through 12 have access to “Paper” services.

Today, at 2 p.m. The board of trustees intends to address S-BAC testing for grades 3 through 8 at their meeting in order to assess the data utilized to improve student learning.

This takes place at the Administration Building.
