The Animal Foundation Will Once Again Begin Taking in Strays and Dogs Surrendered by Their Owners
LAS VEGAS – Starting Thursday, the Animal Foundation will once again accept strays and owner-surrendered canine companions. This comes as the shelter is gradually returning to normal after a canine respiratory virus outbreak.
The news was shared on the shelter’s social media accounts on Wednesday night. But there will be one minor adjustment. The animal shelter requested that you call ahead and book an appointment if you intend to bring in a stray pet.
Due to an epidemic of canine respiratory disease that resulted in the euthanization of one of the shelter’s canines, the Animal Foundation had to temporarily suspend accepting certain breeds of dogs.
The number of reported instances has decreased dramatically since then, and the shelter reports that canines diagnosed with the disease react positively to treatment.
