RENO, Nev. (775 Times, NV Globe) – It’s an opportunity to experience landscapes like you’ve never seen them before. Stremmel Gallery is displaying the work of a local artist who creates his paintings in an unusual method.
Nolan Preece describes his art as “chemical painting.” He created extraordinarily intricate and textured works of art using photographic paper, floor wax, and chemical reactions.
While the paintings resemble images of nature, they are considerably more intimate.
“We call this show the ‘The West Reimagined,’” says Preece. “Most of these places I’ve been to, but I haven’t really taken photographs it’s a product in my mind that I bring out.”
Preece has 28 paintings on exhibit at Stremmel Gallery, which hosted an artist’s event on Thursday, November 10, 22. The exhibition “Chemical Landscapes: The West Reimagined” is on display until December 23, 2022. Stremmel Gallery is situated at 1400 South Virginia Street in Reno.
