After the RTC Bus Crash in the Summer, the Wall Was Finally Repaired
LAS VEGAS – Last month, pieces of the cinderblock wall were still all over the sidewalk at the Wildwood apartment complex on Tropicana and Mountain Vista. Now, the wall has been fixed for good.
In July, a Regional Transportation Commission bus crashed into a cinderblock wall in the southwest part of the valley, causing the accident.
In October, almost four months after the wall fell, it still hadn’t been fixed, and all of the broken things and rubble were still in the back patio of one tenant.
In October, a representative from Keolis, an independent contractor for the RTC, told FOX5 that the insurance check had been processed and that it would be up to the apartment complex to fix the wall with the money.
The maintenance department of the apartment has now fixed the wall and cleaned up the mess. Last month, we heard from a resident named Edward Algarin. He wants to know who is responsible for giving him the money back for all the things that were broken in the bus crash.
Algarin said, “We’ve been having trouble getting our clothes clean.” The washer won’t do its job. On this part, you can see that the washer has been damaged.”
Algarin said that there are still things that need to be replaced that cost between $12,000 and $15,000.
Keolis said that they would get in touch with Algarin to help point him in the right direction and figure out what was going on.
