National Weather Service Reno Flood Warning In Effect From Friday Morning To Saturday Night

NEVADA – The Reno National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Reno area and nearby municipalities.
The effect will begin on Friday morning and last until Saturday night. The flood watch will also include the following areas:
Lake Tahoe, in northeast California, includes the Susanville region
Western Nevada, including all of Washoe County all the way down to Carson City NWS Sierra Nevadas, including the Truckee area Reno also warns that heavy rainfall might cause flooding in major stem rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Road restrictions due to flooding are also a possibility. River flooding is also expected on the east branch of the Carson River and the Susan River, according to NWS Reno.
A winter storm watch has also been issued for northeast California, the Greater Lake Tahoe Area, and Mono County from Thursday night until Sunday morning.
Above 6-7,000 feet, conditions are suitable for substantial high-elevation snowfall. There will be hazardous travel conditions.
