Las Vegas Police Charged Woman With Attempted Murder After She Stabbed Her Husband on Christmas

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (702 Times, NV Globe) – Authorities claim that a woman from Las Vegas attempted to knife her husband to death on Christmas Day.

Since her arrest on December 25, Samantha Toland, 28, has been detained without bond at the Clark County Detention Center. She is charged with domestic assault and attempted murder with a dangerous weapon.

At around 10 p.m., the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department stated that they had responded to a house close to 6600 Beacon Road. A lady reported to 911 that she had seen an unidentified male bleeding from the head and face in front of her house and that he had claimed his wife had stabbed him.

The guy was discovered by police with upper body knife wounds. More cops showed up, contained the area, and ordered Toland out of the residence.

Police said that Toland was brought into custody without a hitch. Investigators found a significant amount of blood inside the home.

According to the report, Toland admitted to using methamphetamine often during a police interview and reporting hearing cries the evening of the event. According to the article, she said her husband assaulted her emotionally in the past, even though he did not physically harm her that previous evening.

Toland told police that as they were watching a movie, she walked into the bedroom, pulled out a knife with a foot-long blade, closed her eyes, and started swinging it at her husband before he fled into the bathroom.

“Her goal/expectation was for them both to ‘be gone’ after tonight,” and that “she had hung a rope in the house to hang herself but the rope broke,” the report said.

Toland’s next hearing is scheduled for Jan. 12.
