LAS VEGAS – Residents and schools in the Las Vegas valley were affected by the power disruptions caused by the severe winds last night. Some institutions are switching to distance learning on Wednesday since electricity may not be restored in a timely manner.
Sunrise Acres Elementary School, Roy Martin Middle School, Variety School, Mission High School, Goodsprings Elementary School, and Sandy Valley Schools will participate in remote learning on Wednesday, according to a news release from the Clark County School District.
Families with pupils in the aforementioned schools should keep an eye on their emails for any additional information.
Officials from the district say they are in contact with NV Energy to stay updated on the outages.
