The Clark County Fire Department Is Trying To Determine the Cause of a Fire Friday That Injured One Person at a Multifamily Dwelling in the South Valley.

LAS VEGAS – The Clark County Fire Department is currently investigating a fire that occurred on Friday at a multifamily dwelling in the south valley, which resulted in injuries to one person. According to Fire Chief John Steinbeck, the firefighters responded to a call at approximately 11:30 a.m. reporting a fire at a “three-plex” located at 5255 Dickens Drive, south of East Tropicana Avenue and east of South Maryland Parkway.

The fire is believed to have started in the central unit of the dwelling, and it took the efforts of 39 department members, including five fire engine companies, one ladder truck, two rescues and two chief officers to bring the blaze under control. The department said personnel used an “aggressive offensive attack and vertical ventilation to contain and extinguish the fire.”

The department confirmed that one occupant of the dwelling was taken to a hospital for injuries that were non-life threatening. However, no other details were provided regarding the person or their injury.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the department, and no further updates have been given at this time.
