In-N-Out Burger, a popular West Coast fast-food chain, has recently announced a mask ban for its employees in five states, including Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, Texas, and Utah.
The ban is set to take effect from August 14, 2023.
According to the company, the policy is aimed at promoting clear and effective communication and showcasing employees’ smiles.
However, this move has sparked controversy, and a Change.org petition has been initiated, criticizing the guidelines for endangering employees’ lives and discriminating against disabled and immunocompromised individuals.
The company emphasized that the new guidelines prioritize customer service while maintaining high health, safety, and quality standards.
In-N-Out Burger will continue to review its policies based on prevailing guidelines and local regulations.
