At Harry Reid International Airport, where passengers faced one of the busiest days on record for TSA screenings. With long lines snaking through terminals, travelers were urged to brace for traffic jams outside the airport and longer-than-usual wait times at security checkpoints.
Airport officials took to social media Monday, warning flyers to “allow for additional travel time.” Meanwhile, TSA, an agency all too familiar with bureaucracy-induced delays, struggled to handle the surge.
Sunday ranked as Las Vegas’ third-busiest TSA screening day ever, according to TSA spokeswoman Lorie Dankers. The overflow continued into Monday, as masses of travelers poured into the airport early, creating even more bottlenecks.
“We continue to advise people to arrive early and to arrive prepared for the screening process,” Dankers said — an all-too-familiar refrain that highlights the real-world consequences of centralized government-run operations bogging down critical infrastructure.
The American people deserve efficient, streamlined travel — not endless government-created delays. Instead of throwing more taxpayer dollars at bloated bureaucracies, it’s time to demand real accountability and smarter private-sector solutions that put travelers first.
