Salmonella Outbreak Strikes Southern Nevada

A multistate Salmonella outbreak tied to brown cage‑free and certified organic eggs has reached Clark County, with four confirmed illnesses reported this week. National officials, including the CDC and FDA, have traced the issue to eggs produced by California’s August Egg Company—part of a recall affecting roughly 1.7 million dozen eggs sold between February and May under well-known brands like Clover, Marketside, and O Organics. Salmonella symptoms—diarrhea, fever, stomach cramps—typically present within six days after exposure.
