LAS VEGAS, NV — A Las Vegas Metropolitan Police officer and a felony suspect were transported to a local hospital Monday night following a violent pursuit that spanned several miles across the valley.

The incident began just after 8:30 PM on Monday, April 6, 2026, when officers attempted to conduct a routine traffic stop near the intersection of 12th Street and Bonanza Road. According to LVMPD officials, the driver refused to yield and intentionally struck a marked patrol vehicle before fleeing the scene at a high rate of speed.

From Pursuit to Foot Chase

Metro units initiated a pursuit as the suspect wove through traffic, eventually heading toward the northeast part of the city. The chase concluded near the intersection of Lake Mead and Lamb Boulevards, where the suspect’s vehicle became disabled.

The suspect then fled the vehicle on foot, leading officers on a brief chase through a nearby neighborhood before being apprehended and taken into custody.

Injuries and Investigation

Both the primary pursuing officer and the suspect sustained minor injuries during the incident. Per standard protocol following a high-speed collision and physical apprehension, both were transported to a nearby medical facility for evaluation. They are expected to be released later today.

Investigators remained on the scene at Lamb and Lake Mead into the early morning hours of Tuesday to process evidence and clear the wreckage. The suspect, whose identity has not yet been released, is expected to face multiple felony charges, including assault on a protected person with a deadly weapon, felony evading, and possession of a stolen vehicle.
