Speeding Driver Smashes Into Central Valley Apartment Following Domestic Dispute

LAS VEGAS, NV — A violent early-morning collision sent one person to the hospital with life-threatening injuries Friday after a car slammed into an apartment building and multiple vehicles in the central Las Vegas Valley.

The incident occurred at approximately 5:01 AM on Friday, April 10, 2026, in the 4800 block of Twain Avenue, near the intersection of Decatur Boulevard and the Chinatown district

Domestic Dispute Preceded Impact

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD), the high-speed crash was not a simple loss of control. Investigators believe a dispute between the vehicle’s driver and a passenger led to the driver accelerating before veering off the roadway.

The car struck the exterior of a two-story apartment building with enough force to cause significant structural damage to the facade and a corner of the structure. Before coming to a halt, the vehicle also struck at least one other parked car in the vicinity.

Injuries and Traffic Disruptions

One person involved in the crash—whose identity has not been released—was transported to a local trauma center with life-threatening injuries. Police have not yet confirmed if other residents inside the apartment building were injured, though the primary impact was localized to the building’s exterior wall.

The crash caused significant morning delays for commuters. Westbound lanes on Twain Avenue remained blocked between Arville Street and Decatur Boulevard for several hours while LVMPD’s Collision Investigation Section processed the scene and structural engineers assessed the building’s integrity.
