Nevada Democrats Vote With the Radical Left to Defund ICE and Jeopardize Public Safety

With the border more secure and enforcement finally being taken seriously again, House Democrats Dina Titus, Susie Lee, and Steven Horsford still could not bring themselves to support funding the federal government without attacking law enforcement.
The trio voted against funding the federal government after House Democrats demanded provisions aimed at stripping resources from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, a move Republicans say would weaken law enforcement and make Nevada communities less safe.
House Republicans made clear their focus was keeping the government open while ensuring federal law enforcement has the tools needed to enforce the law, secure the border, and remove dangerous criminals from American streets. Democrats took a different route. They caved to pressure from the far left and used government funding as leverage to advance a defund ICE agenda that has already failed in cities across the country.
This vote was not about fiscal responsibility. It was about politics. Progressive activists demanded loyalty tests, and Nevada Democrats complied.
“Instead of standing up to protect Nevada communities, out of touch Dina Titus, Susie Lee, and Steven Horsford are chasing applause from their radical far-left base by defunding law enforcement,” said NRCC Spokesman Christian Martinez. “Titus, Lee, and Horsford continue to put criminal illegal immigrants before law-abiding Nevadans.”
The consequences are not theoretical. Across the country, jurisdictions that embraced anti ICE policies have seen surges in crime, repeat offenders released back into neighborhoods, and law enforcement officers targeted and vilified for doing their jobs. Republicans argue Nevada should learn from those failures, not import them.
Yet that is exactly what this vote signals. Instead of drawing a line against radical activists who want to dismantle immigration enforcement altogether, Titus, Lee, and Horsford doubled down.
For Nevadans who struggled with rising crime, fentanyl trafficking, and an unsecured border under Biden, the contrast could not be clearer. Republicans are pushing to fund government, support law enforcement, and restore order. Democrats are willing to shut it down if it means appeasing the loudest voices on the left.
Reporting underscores, opposition to Homeland Security funding has become a rallying cry for progressives intent on weakening ICE regardless of the real-world consequences. Nevada Democrats have now placed themselves squarely in that camp.
Voters will remember. When given a choice between safer communities and radical politics, Titus, Lee, and Horsford made theirs.
