Part 3: Nevada Businesses Win Big with 15% Tax Cut

Our 20-part series, Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill: Nevada’s Wins and Losses, celebrates a boost for Nevada’s 30,000 small businesses. The “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” (Sec. 1001) cuts the corporate tax rate from 21% to 15%. A Reno tech startup like Apex Innovations, earning $500,000 in profits, saves $30,000 yearly, enough for two engineers. The Tax Foundation projects 100,000 new jobs nationwide, and Nevada’s no-income-tax advantage could draw thousands.
This isn’t just for tech bros. A Laughlin casino or Henderson bakery benefits too, reinvesting in new slots or ovens. In 2017, similar cuts boosted Nevada’s retail 5%. Critics warn of a $1 trillion deficit spike, but for now, businesses have breathing room. Las Vegas’s 2024 startup boom, with 200 new firms, could accelerate.
Nevada’s entrepreneurs are scrappy, turning dreams into jobs. As businesses grow, ask yourself: Will this fuel a new economic golden age, or are we borrowing from tomorrow’s prosperity?
