In expected fashion, former President Donald J. Trump blasted the Biden Administration, Democrats, and his opponents to a welcoming crowd yesterday at the Reno Sparks Convention Center. Prior to the Commit to Caucus rally, attendees waited for hours in a line wrapped around the convention center. Approximately 3,000 supporters attended the event, including Senator Ira Hanson and his wife Assemblywoman Alexis Hanson who both took to the stage and endorsed the Republican frontrunner for President of the United States.
Assemblywoman Hanson told the crowd that after she had watched the Trump hearing in NYC and witnessed “bias so thick you could cut it with a knife,” she “promised to do everything she could to get him elected.”
NV GOP Chairman Michael McDonald also seems to be doing everything he can to get Trump elected by encouraging the crowd to vote for Trump in the upcoming February 8, 2024 caucus. Confirmed candidates for the caucus include Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, Vivek Ramaswamy and Chris Christie. As decided by the Nevada GOP, only candidates who participate in the caucus will be awarded state delegates. Niki Haley will appear on the state-primary ballot.
Chairman McDonald is one of six “fake electors” indicted by Attorney General Aaron Ford. Trump told the crowd that the six republicans are being “treated unfairly.”
Trump took aim at reports of Niki Haley “surging in the polls” noting that she is only surging behind Ron “DeSanctimonious” and rattled off numerous polls that show him with a comfortable, double-digit lead against his republican rivals. According to a recent Howard Harris poll, Trump is leading his rivals by 56 points.
Trump also noted that after his indictments, his polling numbers increased.
“I got indicted over bullshit,” Trump exclaimed. “Every time I am indicted by the radical marxist, communist, fascist left, I consider it a badge of honor.” Trump is wearing many badges as he faces 91 criminal charges across four separate cases and has pleaded not guilty to all of the charges.
“Their reign will be over soon and America will be a free nation once again,” Trump said, adding, “There are corrupt communists in our country. This nation does not belong to them. This nation belongs to you.”
Throughout his hour-long speech, Trump excoriated the Biden administration over inflation, the border crisis, and President Biden’s cognitive decline, referring to Biden numerous times as a “threat to democracy.”
“Crooked Joe is a laughing stock all over the world,” Trump claimed. “There is not a problem he can solve. Crooked Joe is a low IQ individual. The worst, most incompetent, and corrupt president,” Trump charged.
“We are going to bring our country back from Hell. The invasion will end…unprecedented millions of illegal aliens are invading our country and we will have no choice but to launch the largest deportation operation in the country,” Trump promised. “Be ready, because what they are allowing into our country is very, very bad,” Trump warned.
Trump promised to shift “massive portions of federal law enforcement to immigration enforcement” and move “thousands of troops currently stationed overseas to our own southern border.”
“Before we defend the borders of other countries, we must defend ours,” Trump told the crowd.
Toward the end of his address, Trump claimed that the “radical left rigged the 2020 election, but we aren’t going to allow them to rig 2024.”
“Pretend we’re tied. Pretend we’re losing by three. You got to do this, because you know, the worst thing is everyone thinks, ‘Oh, what do we have to vote for? Trump is killing them.’ And then bad things happen,” Trump told his supporters.
The Reno campaign stop comes on the heels of stops in Iowa and New Hampshire. The former president will return to Iowa on Tuesday.
