LAS VEGAS, Nev. (702 Times, NV Globe) – In Las Vegas, the original hotel is commemorating its 117th birthday.
In 1906, when it first opened as Hotel Nevada, daily rates for rooms were just $1.
It is currently referred to as the Golden Gate Hotel and Casino and is a pioneer in the hospitality sector.
The hotel only had 10 rooms originally, and these rooms still remain and have been restored, of course.
The first telephone in Las Vegas was installed by Golden Gate in 1907, and the company continued to operate throughout the Roaring Twenties, the Rat Pack era, and even the COVID-19 pandemic.

When Las Vegas was just a railroad town 117 years ago, Stevens said that Golden Gate really put the city on the map.
“You made a pit stop in Vegas. You got off the train and ran. In one of the ten rooms, I jumped. After a restful night’s sleep, you take a shower and board the train to end your journey. But that’s exactly how Vegas got its start a long time ago,” he stated. It’s remarkable how it has affected not only Las Vegas history but also American history.”
One of the original ten rooms is available for your stay.
Additionally, there are antique slot machines and an original telephone model in the lobby.
