Arrest Made After Firearm Found on High School Campus in Northeast Valley

LAS VEGAS – Authorities took a parent or guardian into custody on Wednesday morning for allegedly possessing a firearm at a high school campus located in the northeast valley. The incident occurred at Desert Pines High School, as stated in an email sent to parents.

Fortunately, no threats were directed towards students or staff members during the incident. However, no additional details about the circumstances were provided in the communication.

Desert Pines Principal Isaac Stein emphasized that this incident is a crucial reminder of Nevada’s stringent regulations concerning weapons on school premises. Even individuals with concealed weapons permits are prohibited from possessing any form of weapon on school campuses.
