Clark County officials have issued a fine of nearly $500,000 to the Boring Company after determining that drilling fluid was improperly discharged into the Clark County Water Reclamation District’s sewer system. According to county documents, the violation involved material believed to be drill fluid entering the system without authorization.
The incident was reviewed by the Water Reclamation District, which determined the discharge violated county regulations regarding proper disposal procedures. The fine reflects penalties tied to the volume and nature of the material released.
The Boring Company, which is constructing underground transit tunnels in Las Vegas, has not publicly commented on the penalty. County officials said the enforcement action is intended to ensure compliance with local environmental and wastewater standards.
The case remains open pending any additional review or response from the company.
