Community Plea: Help Find Luis Angel Equihua-Murillo in Fatal Hit-and-Run Case

Las Vegas, Nevada – Two months after a tragic crash that claimed the lives of two young men, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) is renewing its call for the public’s assistance in locating the suspect, Luis Angel Equihua-Murillo, 20.
Despite initial tips, authorities have not yet located Equihua-Murillo, who is believed to be responsible for the July 5th crash at the intersection of E. Charleston Blvd and N. Hollywood Blvd.
The crash occurred when a GMC Sierra pickup truck, allegedly driven by Equihua-Murillo, ran a red light and collided with a Honda CRV that was lawfully crossing the intersection. The impact resulted in the deaths of both the driver and passenger of the Honda CRV.
Sergeant Rich Rundell of LVMPD Traffic’s Fatal Detail emphasized the importance of community involvement in bringing closure to the grieving families. The mother of one of the victims, Jannell Velasquez, joined the initial press conference to urge the public to come forward with any information.
